The Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza Foundation

The Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza Foundation was established in 1994 as a nonprofit organization dedicated to enriching the lives of the citizens of Thousand Oaks and the surrounding communities through the presentation of local, national, and international performing arts programming.  In addition, the Foundation financially supports the operations of the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza theatres and the activities of the City’s Cultural Affairs Commission.

Each season, the Foundation presents over 30 artists and national touring attractions in the 1,800-seat Fred Kavli Theatre and 394-seat Janet & Ray Scherr Forum Theatre. Performances presented by the Foundation have included, Joffrey Ballet, Hal Holbrook, Wynton Marsalis, Colbie Caillat, Natalie Cole, Kenny Loggins, Kathy Griffin , Clint Black and the Capital Steps.

The Foundation also funds capital purchases for the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza theatres such as the recent replacement of the facility’s two-way radios. The Foundation is currently seeking funding to underwrite the creation of a Cultural Arts Master Plan for the City of Thousand Oaks, which would be administered by the Cultural Affairs Commission.

The Foundation is a member of Americana Music Association, Association of Performing Arts Presenters, California Presenters, International Entertainment Buyers Association, and the Western Arts Alliance.

The Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza Foundation Board of Directors consists of 5 members who are appointed by the City’s Cultural Affairs Commission.
